Lockdown Flowers - February Purple Hellebore (#LF_10)

About: A contemporary series of original paintings by Heidi Lichterman inspired by nature and created in 2020-2021 during the lockdown for the COVID-19 pandemic.
“My paintings are about contrast: the assumed beauty of flowers on the mysterious, sometimes sinister, backgrounds; The dark contrasting sharply with the light; the hard edges contrasting with the translucency and soft contours of the petals; the over-large scale (all the flowers are painted on one metre square canvases). Although the flowers are recognisable, my emphasis is on their abstract qualities."
One of Heidi’s paintings from this collection was accepted (and sold) in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2022

Medium: Original painting, acrylic on deep edge canvas.

Size: 100cm by 100cm
