A Circle and Two Lines

A Circle and Two Lines

"A Circle and Two Lines" is a limited edition series of abstract designs created by Christine Wilkinson. Starting with a photograph Christine reduces digital information to create a clear composition of geometric abstraction with intense colour and bold forms.

"Hard-edge painting emerged in the 1950s as a reaction to the emotional, painterly or gestural forms of abstract expressionism. This series is an an homage to the hard-edge geometric abstraction of artists such as Ellsworth Kelly, Frank Stella and Kenneth Noland whose paintings were made up of monochromatic fields of clean-edged colour where all that matters is form, line, colour and their own interaction."
